Power Window Coversion Write Up For The Civic EG

Well I have decide to convert the front Windows from Manual Whining up to Power.. since i think i would like teh luxury .. aint wanna buss too much sweat winding up when rain come.. but here is what was needed...

Pre-requiste
Power Window regulators(not actual pic)

power windows door harness ( Drivers side P/W-H to the left ..passenger to the right and the connector to the under dash fusebox bottom right(pale green connector)

P/W Relay ( its a must)

Well wrapped up the harness a bit neater
Passenger

Drivers

They were a few loose wires when i was finished wrapping up the harness .. they were speaker and indicator.. ... not goin splice them since i already have my indicators hooked up already .. its just the P/W's i want ..
(passenger side )

these are the Connectors that connects the driver side to the passenger side (also in the pic is the ground for t he drivers side)

This is the connector that connets to the back of the under dash fuse box .

(If your civic didn't come with power windows the slot is still there)

kinda messy .. but this how it looks fitted up

this is where i mounted the connecting point for the driver's side and passenger side connectors so that i am able to mount it back on the chassis

Under dash fuse box

if you look closely u can see at teh top is says P/W where u would put the the P/W relay

And power window complete just need to hook up the battery !!

For the switches, what do plan to do? Are you going to fabricate aftermarket switches?

The first owner of my truck installed an aftermarket power window kit. I'm sure he never had any problems with it but after a few years (now that I own it) they do. It's two rocker switches on the driver's side and one on the passenger side. Every now and then I'll have to take off the door panels to clean and adjust the contacts so that they make contact. If they're not cleaned properly a short can be made. I went through about 5 fuses before i could figure out what and where the problem was coming from . I personally would have left it manual.

Oh ok, well you should be fine with the oem switched then, as long as the wiring is done properly. Looking forward to seeing it finished
