Anthony uses a FPGreen Evo 9 turbo with autronic engine management computer with cams etc. and runs what on race fuel??? Plus the evo 6 is a much lighter car. Now as much as we like to say that they are alot of evo 7 to 9's in the 10's on FPGreen evo 9 turbos frankly it's not that many. I think for the car to run that time with the list of parts and also the weight of the evo Xs it is impressive even if it was on race fuel (now I don't know if it was, but it does not matter) The cars are responding well to simple bolt ons even more so than the all powerful evo9. It's only a matter of time before the other BIG GUNS in the evo world start breaking down the 10 sec barrier and who knows maybe by the end of the year even a 9 sec buy one of them. Just wait until they start adding big turbos and built engines

Cams will give you 20 hp atw or so. What is that worth in the 1/4? Look it's a decent result... but I would bet that getting a fp green stock cam 9 to 11's on race is not a huge deal. It's decent but not amazing. I mean the amazing times for stock turbo are high 10's and low 11's. Then for stock frame turbos it's mid 10's and high 10's. But I hear you.. for sure the X's are responding well for the mods. And perhaps I was being a bit demanding. On pump fuel there are stock turbo IX's that I think run high 11's. So if this was on race, hmm, I dunno. |

i think a big point that is being missed on this topic is that the EVO X has only been out in the states 4 months, not only that this is a brand new engine. i also don't get the big debate about who running race fuel to who isn't running race fuel. IMO race fuel may increases HP slightly but the reason why we use race fuel is to be able to run higher boost....to me its simple low boost ( just over stock) = pump gas and maybe a gubsy
, high boost = race gas

Yes the X is very cool. Yes they seem to make a bit more power than the IX's from simple bolt-on's. Yes it's cool that there is probably over 10 companies who make ic pipes, ic's, intakes, etc already. Yes the X is heavier than a IX... by how much I don't know.
Anyway, I guess I should backtrack a bit on my point. Guss you are right, it is impressive. But once I saw the dyno results from X's before they could flash them, and then once EcuTek came out I knew the X would run this well. If you added the extra weight to a IX with stock cams and a green would it run this well? I think so... but hard to say. |

Race fuel on my car makes a massive difference. Race fuel on a smaller turbo car makes less of a difference because the potential for more air flow is limited by things like stock heads, mild cams, stock inlet and exhaust manifolds, small turbine housings, etc. |
