Here is the latest word from the organisers,
"The last time we spoke, I was on my way to Tourism to see about the documents and when I got there I was informed that the Minister was out of office until the 24th and not to this day even the Permanent Secretary can tell me anything about the approval of the documents."
so now we wait until the 24th?
Seems like it is a goverment issue!

I posted a call to Trinidad to see if they were getting the same run around as you guys and it seems they have some sort of understanding to the matter.

From what am gathering Jonty, it seems to me that because the cars overstayed the time period in the country there had to be some other procedure they were to go through before they could be shipped off from out the country again. They in Trinidad say it APPEARS as though it is the Comptroller of Customs in Antigua who is really holding up the procedure. Thats just what i gathered from a phone call placed to the man who organised the cars leaving out of trinidad.

Thats all i have for now, i'll get back to you and Mussi is also a key player in this forum on a matter as ticklish as this one so we will have some sort of compliment to the situation very soon!!!

Once again on behalf of Antigua's Racing Fraternity and Car enthusiasts we deeply and truly extend our sincere sympathies at the way at which things are being handled and lets see how soon a resolution could come to play.

Lets not point no fingers here and lets see what the cause of the delay is all about.

The latest news I have recieved is.

"I just came out of the Prime Minister's office where I got the Minister of Tourism to sign off on the Cabinet note. While he was doing that they were actually sitting in Cabinet so we should have that within the next day or two.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that we will be able to make the shipping date for next Tuesday finally. I will keep you posted but that is the update. "

Hopefully the rest will now fall into place.

I will not feel comfortable until I see the bill of lading though.

Hey, looks like they doing what they can to make things happen. I'd say give it til Friday to see what boils over and you should be safe. At least there is some sort of progress happening as was quoted to you.

I hope you guys get through speedily.

I heard that everything was already completed and its just to get things moving now.

A telephone conversation to a member of this forum by Stuart at the driver's meeting last Thursday revealed that the papers were finally signed by Ministry.
