We can all agree that almost everyone here are huge race fans but don't have the budget to build a race car. If a sponosr gave you "$75K Uncle Sam" what would you build and why. Now it doesn't have to be a dream machine but it's something you want to do and you have the money to do it. Plus we can also use this the share ideas with each other.

To start it off I would go with a 1st generation Eclipse GSX 1991-1994. GT35R Kit
2.3L stroker Kit
AEM Engine management system
A complete John Speppard Drivetrain
800cc Injectors
Forced Performance 321 stainless header
JE Pistons
TiAL Blow Off Valve
Eagle Rods
Some mickey Thompson Slicks
Etc......
Don't really have the time to list every part but it's a start.

Do I get to choose the car then have the 75K to spend ?????

Your turbo is too small, lol!!! And get joke, you wouldn't have to trouble the bottom end at all yet...unless you running at least 35psi or something and a stock block kicks out at 43 psi (it is rumoured) oh and on youtube too, lol!!!

I would use the money and buy the car, because for $75,000 U.S. Dollars i am buying the car....lets work it out $200,250.00 E.C. at a rate of $2.67 when multiplied by $75,000 U.S. then i am buying the car 33.3 times, lol!!!

The car of my choice would be a:

'94 Toyota Tercel - (1500LM spec)

3SGTE Engine Swap

As this is already a low 13sec pass for the tercel with no mods but slicks on regular clutch and pressure plate then i am almost on my way.

It would be if it can fit a japanese fairlady Z33 (350Z) with

an RB26DETT stroked to 2.7 or
an SR20DET stroked to 2.2

not sure what brand 6 Speed close ratio gear set i would use

with a GT3576 not sure of the trim yet.

Microtech LT10S

1600cc injectors

Zeal coilovers

Brembo slotted discs with Wilwood calipers

and that is it off the top of my head and it would be a full street car. I think that should be interesting.

best of all.

Old model mustang (anyone will do)
Full cage
back half chassie
4link rear with built 9"
514ci big block ford or 560ci chevy
and still have change left over

8sec 1/4 mile everyday and could still drive home.

Am not knocking any other engine but a v8 will run circles around any other engine when it comes to reliability going 9sec and faster 1/4mile.

Until you actually check how much it cost to buy a Titan 3.4 long block or a built RB26 with corresponding turbo's, fuel system etc, etc. and availability of parts in the carribbean you would know v8's would always rule.

The one guy who was building a full street / strip supra in St.Lucia nearly died when he got the quote from Titan to build a 1000hp engine, he is now going V8.

I know what i said is going to stroke the fires of this post but thats what it is all about.

Hahahahaha Nero and then boys at Titan don't play. Supra require big buck to go fast..trust me i know. i seen customers spend $60K easy and still far from 'drag' car. Stuff adds up so fast...especially the little things like fittings, hoses, clamps, piping, labor, etc

Yea man......I was waiting for this type of post but i guess we can have an American Muscle Vs. Import argument antoher time. I think most of us watch PINKS and see how reliable and consistant the V8's are.

That is so true. But at the end of the day it comes down to your personal preference.

Like we had an argument one day where a guy said to me, "Why spend so much money building that car when you can build a Mustang for 1/4 of the money you spending and get more speed and reliability?" My answer: "Duh, because I want to."
