So basically you really don't get a chace to enjoy what you saw because the next 2 cars just ran a 10.1-10.2. Another close race.
Another reason where it sometimes get boring is when you can't identify the cars that are racing on a personal level. Here IN ANU eveyone knows each and we are connect through the history of the car, driver, and the whole process of them getting to the point of sucess and failure. So when you have Winston and Broyce match and run a good close race we cheer, argue, complain, get paid all that, cause we know the cars and the drivers.
Now don't get me wrong the events are well organised the flow is good but i guess you need that when you have 10.0 10.99 class have 30 cars lined up in lane 2,3, 4,5.
One thing though its a good experience though.

i agree with most of what you said but i still find some excitement in well attended and organized drag events.
the cars are all paired up in the staging lanes according to class and its a traffic jam. burn outs going on while cars flying down the track. it does get a little boring when there are 40-50 hondas paired up back to back. but its cool when you see rivals like N/A vs Boost, USDM vs Import, EVO vs STI, and so on. Its fun to watch the big boys go 6 secs at over 200mph too.
plus, at some of these events there are other things to do in the mean time and between race time such as, car/bike shows, food, vendors, bikini competitions, sound off, hydrolic competition, etc. At least this use to happen back in the day at E-Town. thousands of fans backing local cars and racers vs the rest of the groups from out of town and betting money in the stands made a crazy fun atmospher.
sometimes we use to go to these two day events and stay overnight and shut down the local streets and parking lots. some people use to campout on the grounds and tailgate. damn i miss those days !!!
the stands are empty now and all the real fast cars are retired cause they have nothing to race for.
